Complete Cybersecurity Awareness Training by April 21!

The Cybersecurity Awareness Training isn't just something to check off your to-do list. Learn to spot sneaky scams and protect your data like a pro. With interactive lessons and real-world scenarios, you’ll gain skills that keep you safe online.

Complete your Spring Cybersecurity Awareness Training by 11:59 p.m. on April 21!

Your participation matters! So far, 50% have completed the training. Can we reach 65% by next week? Let's make it happen, Owls!

The online training takes approximately 15 minutes. If you prefer an in-person option or don’t have access to a computer, you can attend one of the following sessions:

  • Tuesday, April 8
    • 10–10:30 a.m.
    • Marietta Campus: J.M. Wilson Student Center, Room A216

  • Tuesday, April 15
    • 10–10:30 a.m.
    • Kennesaw Campus: Clendenin Building, Room CL1009

In addition, UITS is happy to facilitate departmental sessions by request. These sessions can be conducted via Microsoft Teams or in person. Please submit all requests by April 7 via the KSU IT Service Desk: service@kennesaw.edu.

Friendly reminder: This training is mandatory for all faculty, staff, and student assistants and must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on April 21. If you miss the deadline, your KSU NetID account will be disabled until you complete the training.

Please Note: The Training Dashboard lists a deadline of May 1 because it reflects one minute past the University System of Georgia (USG) official deadline of 11:59 p.m. on April 30. However, KSU has set a firm internal deadline of April 21.

In this beginner Excel workshop, participants will learn the basics of formatting, tables, and get comfortable using essential Excel tools.

Excel Basics: Simple Formulas and Functions

Tuesday, Apr. 8, 2–3 p.m. via Teams—

In this supplemental beginner Excel workshop, users will learn how to use basic formulas using functions like SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, LEFT, RIGHT, and COUNT.

Excel: Tables, Charts, and Pivot Tables

Wednesday, Apr. 9, 2–3:30 p.m. via Teams—

Unlock the full potential of Excel for dynamic data presentation and analysis. Learn to format tables, create column, pie, and line charts, and utilize pivot tables and charts. Join this workshop to get acquainted with analyzing large datasets effectively.

Excel: Conditional Functions

Thursday, Apr. 10, 2–3 p.m. via Teams—

Learn the essentials of conditional logic in Excel with AND, OR, NOT, and IF (SUMIF, COUNTIF) functions. This workshop is designed for those who have a basic understanding of Excel and are ready to delve deeper into its powerful data-finding capabilities.
 

Power Query in Excel

Friday, Apr. 11, 2–3 p.m. via Teams—

Power Query is a data transformation and data preparation engine. Learn how to import or connect to external data, and then shape that data (i.e., remove a column, change a data type, or merge tables) in ways that meet your needs. Then, you can load your query into Excel to create charts and reports. Join this workshop and optimize your data workflow!
